Seaford- The Delaware State Police have arrested 39-year-old Wesley G. Bush Jr., of Philadelphia, PA after a traffic stop led to the discovery of weapons.
The incident occurred on February 3, 2020 at approximately 2:11 p.m., when a Trooper observed a black 2002 Mercedes Benz traveling northbound on Sussex Highway in the area of Bethel Concord Road, Seaford above the posted speed limit.  A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with the driver and sole occupant, Wesley G. Bush Jr.  Upon contact with Bush, the Trooper detected an odor of marijuana.  Bush was found to be in possession of approximately .94 grams of marijuana.  A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted when the Trooper located a silver semi automatic handgun and a 3″ blade knife.  A computer inquiry revealed that Bush was a person prohibited from possessing a firearm or deadly weapon, and the handgun was found to be reported stolen out of Philadelphia, PA.
Bush was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 5 where he was charged with the following:
  • Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
